When you think of California wine country your first thought might be Napa Valley. While it is world-renowned for its incredible wine we have fallen in love with its sister city right next door, Sonoma. More specifically, the Sonoma Valley, that stretches for 17 miles and is boarded by the Sonoma Mountains to the west and the Mayacamas Mountains to the east. The Sonoma area has 70,000 wine-producing acres and 18 sub-American Viticultural Areas (AVAs). That is just the start. Here are 4 more reasons we absolutely love Sonoma County and have been running tours here for years:
We recently completed our first Wine & Music Adventure, an extraordinary five-day tour in Sonoma County filled with amazing wines, wonderful music, outstanding weather, and a very fun group of 40 people.
This tour was the brainstorm of professional musician Mindi Abair and her husband, wine industry veteran Eric Guerra. And while we had worked with Mindi and Eric for well over a year to set up this vacation, even we were blown away by how great it was.
Last week, Allan Wright, Taste Vacations’ owner and president, had the pleasure of discussing the current and future state of travel with Mindi Abair, two-time Grammy nominee, saxophonist, singer, and fellow travel lover, and her husband, Eric Guerra, a wine industry veteran. Mindi and Eric own Reserve Tastings, a Wine + Music private wine membership that focuses on small-lot, luxury wines that are not available to the public.
Weren’t able to make the live event? No problem! Check out the recording below.
