Welcome to India! Our journey begins on India’s west coast in the bustling city of Mumbai. This afternoon, we’ll meet our local guide in the lobby of the hotel before heading out to witness and learn about the remarkable efficiency of Mumbai’s dabbawalas, a workforce renowned for their extraordinary logistics that transport over 130,000 lunch boxes across the city with a staggering accuracy rate of 99.99%, all without the use of modern technology.
In the evening, immerse yourself in the vibrant atmosphere of Mumbai’s spice markets, where you’ll engage with local vendors, learn about the origins and uses of various spices, and handpick ingredients for a hands-on spiced cocktail-making session at a chic, contemporary bar.
Finally, we’ll cap off our first day together with a Welcome Dinner at one of India’s top-rated restaurants. Here, you’ll be treated to a lavish Modern Indian Fine Dining experience showcasing the innovative fusion of traditional flavors with contemporary culinary techniques.
Day 2 > Mumbai > Goa
Good morning! Today, we rise at dawn to witness the intricate workings of Mumbai’s supply chain as the city slowly comes to life. We’ll start our morning at a lively fish auction, where vendors haggle over the freshest catch of the day. Next, we’ll stroll through a vibrant flower market, where the air is thick with the scent of marigolds and jasmine, before exploring a dynamic vegetable market, brimming with colorful produce. These early morning markets are the lifeblood of Mumbai, supplying the city with its essential ingredients.
After fueling up at breakfast, head to the airport for our flight to Goa, often referred to as India’s coastal paradise. Upon arrival, we’ll check into our hotel and take some time to relax and soak in the laid-back vibe.
We’ll meet up again in the afternoon and step back in time with a visit to Fontainhas, Goa’s Old Latin Quarter. This charming neighborhood, described by historian William Dalrymple as a “small chunk of Portugal washed up on the shores of the Indian Ocean,” is a UNESCO Heritage Zone where narrow streets lined with colorful Portuguese-style houses transport you to another era.
As the evening sets in, we’ll eat our way through the heart of Goa on a Feni & Tapas walk. Mouthwatering local tapas, perfectly paired with premium Feni, a unique Goan spirit distilled from cashews, will be our meal tonight.
Day 3 > Goa
Start your day with the calming rhythm of the waves as you engage in beachside activities along Goa’s stunning coastline. Whether you choose a rejuvenating yoga session, a thrilling surf lesson, or simply lounging by the shore with your toes in the sand, the morning is all about embracing the tranquil beauty of Goa’s beaches.
After a leisurely lunch at a local favorite known for its authentic Goan flavors, we will dive into the world of craft spirits with a visit to a boutique gin distillery. Here, we’ll uncover the fascinating history of gin, from its European roots to its growing popularity in India. Get an insider’s look at the intricate distillation and production process, and participate in an in-depth tasting session where we savor the distillery’s signature gin blends and artisanal cheese.
As evening falls, the choice is yours—relax in the serene ambiance of your hotel or dive into the vibrant energy of Goa’s nightlife. From beachside bars to lively clubs, Goa’s after-dark scene promises an exciting array of experiences, whether you’re looking to dance the night away or enjoy a quiet drink under the stars
